CentralRegister is an international registry for the identification, registration, and recovery search of stolen property.
It enables items to be uniquely registered and permanently assigned to an owner.

A registration simultaneously serves as proof of ownership. Registered items are clearly assigned to an owner and can be verified at any time.
Through CentralRegister, bicycles, skis, construction machinery, and motocross vehicles can be registered. These objects become uniquely identifiable and remain permanently linked to their owner.
Search notices for all types of valuables can be published via the FAHNDUNGS-CONTROL system — regardless of whether they are vehicles, sports equipment, machines, or other stolen objects.
Registered property is traceable and clearly identifiable. This alone has a preventive effect: items with a verifiable origin are significantly less attractive to offenders, as they are more difficult to sell or transfer illegally.

If a theft nevertheless occurs, CentralRegister enables a public and international search. Dealers, online platforms, workshops, authorities, and private individuals can check at any time whether an item is registered or reported stolen.
This creates a global verification and search network that makes stolen property easier to identify — regardless of national borders or jurisdictions.

The item is stored in the registry but remains offline and not publicly visible. It only becomes visible online if a loss or theft report is submitted.

The item remains permanently visible and verifiable online

LIVE-OWNERCHECK
Der LIVE-OWNERCHECK ist eine besondere Registrierungsoption im CentralRegister.
Gegenstände, die mit LIVE-OWNERCHECK registriert sind, sind dauerhaft online überprüfbar.
Bei einer Kontrolle kann jederzeit festgestellt werden, ob ein Gegenstand einem rechtmäßigen Eigentümer zugeordnet ist.
Dabei bleibt die Identität des Eigentümers geschützt – persönliche Daten werden nicht angezeigt.
Die Anonymität bleibt somit weitestgehend gewahrt.
Praxisbeispiel:
Du registrierst dein Fahrrad im CentralRegister mit LIVE-OWNERCHECK.
Während du im Urlaub bist, wird dein Fahrrad gestohlen – du bemerkst den Diebstahl zunächst nicht.
Einige Tage später taucht das Fahrrad bei einer Kontrolle auf, zum Beispiel bei:

einer behördlichen Kontrolle
Da das Fahrrad mit LIVE-OWNERCHECK registriert ist, kann bei einer Kontrolle sofort erkannt werden, dass es im CentralRegister registriert und einem rechtmäßigen Eigentümer zugeordnet ist, wodurch sichtbar wird, dass der aktuelle Nutzer möglicherweise nicht der rechtmäßige Eigentümer ist – auch wenn noch keine Diebstahlmeldung vorliegt.
Die Identität des Eigentümers bleibt dabei vollständig geschützt.
